What to see in the Mid-West
We have planned most of our route but have a gap between Chicago and Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota. Any ideas on what to see in that area of the country? We have a stop in Sioux Falls but that is a long trip from Chicago. We are afraid that a 9-10 hour car trip when we are 3/4 through the trip will be really tough for us and the kids. If you know of anything that would be interesting for the kids or the whole family let us know. We would truly be grateful.

You could stop at the Field of Dreams in Iowa or the Mall of America in Minnesota. Also, the Amana Colonies in Iowa was fun as a kid, but I haven't been there in years. Since I grew up in the Mid-West and my family still lives there, I will also ask them for some ideas :) It looks like an awesome roadtrip. Have a great time!!
ReplyDeleteDevil's Head (think Close Encounters) is on the opposite side of South Dakota from Mt. Rushmore.
