The Williamsburg Time Machine

Woke up to a dry, sunny day in Williamsburg. A very nice day indeed. After missing the fireworks, it would be a miracle for Williamsburg to make up for the loss of one of the biggest events on our trip. We got up and took care of some shopping and laundry...then it was off to Williamsburg. We started off with a volunteer led tour of the DeWitt
Museum. So far so bad... he about put us to sleep. We then attended a public meeting with Patrick Henry who told us about his aspirations for freedom from
the crown. He took questions from the audience but only from
ladies. He was very entertaining and interesting to listen to. After that we explored historic downtown seeing the shoemaker, cooper, cabinetmaker, brick maker, kids games, and much more. It was very interesting and very fun. Here are the pics from today.

Overall it was a great day. We all had a lot of fun. I'm not sure it makes up for missing fireworks yet but we'll see what tomorrow has in store. We are hoping to get to Jamestown, Yorktown and more Williamsburg.

  1. So fun to see all of the fun activities you all have been involved in. It is fun to step back in history and then go back to hot showers and flush toilets. Love the pictures. Thanks for sharing.
